Our Story
Wishbone Pet Care was born from a bond that changed everything.
In 2008, Tammi adopted a dog named Benji, just weeks before Hurricane Ike swept through Texas. As an immigrant who had lost her parents at a young age, Tammi had known her share of hardship. But Benji brought something she had not expected. Comfort. Companionship. A sense of home she could feel every single day.
That relationship with Benji opened her eyes to something she could not ignore. Pets are not just animals. They are family. And the people who care for them carry an enormous amount of trust on their shoulders.
That realization stayed with her. And in 2011, she turned it into something real.
Wishbone Pet Care opened its doors in Missouri City with one clear purpose: to create a place where pets are treated with the same kindness, patience, and attention you would give your own. Not a place that processes pets through appointments, but a place that genuinely cares about every animal that walks through the door and every family that trusts them with someone they love.
More than a decade later, that purpose has not changed. It just keeps growing.

Meet Tammi, Founder and Owner
Tammi did not start Wishbone because it was a good business idea. She started it because she knew what it felt like to have a pet change your life, and she wanted to honor that for every pet family she served.
Since founding Wishbone in 2011, she has built a team that shares her values and a business that her community keeps coming back to. She leads with a hands-on approach, high standards, and a genuine belief that great pet care starts with people who truly care about what they do.
When you bring your pet to Wishbone, you are trusting someone who built this business around that exact feeling.
Our Purpose
We are here to spread kindness through our love and care for pets, fostering stronger bonds and supporting the wellness of every animal in our care.
That is not a tagline. It is the reason Wishbone exists and the standard we hold ourselves to every single day.
Our 14th anniversary (September 2025) surrounded by the people who show up every day. Our team, their kids, and the community we have been honored to serve since 2011.
